Sophia Ppali

Sophia Ppali (she/her) is a Research Associate at the Human-Computer Interaction Multidisciplinary Research Group at CYENS Centre of Excellence. At the moment she is completing her PhD at the University of Kent doing research exploring the design space of remote music performances.

A designer and digital artist, her research explores the design of immersive experiences using human-centred approaches. Prior to her PhD journey, Sophia earned an MSc in Global Innovation Design from Imperial College London and an MA in the same topic from the Royal College of Art. There she specialised in co-design design projects centred on mental health education, with projects spanning London, China and Singapore. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Arts, with a year in industry, from the University of Kent.
