Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović will be visiting the Nicosia City Hall on Thursday, June 6, 2024, as part of his official visit to Cyprus. The President of Montenegro will be welcomed by the Mayor of Nicosia Mr. Constantinos Yiorkadjis.
The Mayor of Nicosia Constantinos Yiorkadjis with the President Milatović, the First Lady of Montenegro, their entourage and members of the Nicosia City Council will meeting and go up to the 3rd floor of the Town Hall, where they see the occupied Nicosia and the green line from above.
They will walk along the green line, where they will have the opportunity to see the effects of the ongoing occupation. Mr. Yiorkadjis will brief them on the efforts being made to revitalize the area but also on the cooperation of the two communities both on practical issues that improve the quality of life of citizens and on building trust, which is necessary for the peaceful coexistence and prosperity of citizens after the liberation and reunification of the city.
Finally, they will visit the building of the renovated Old Municipal Market, which now houses the CYENS Center of Excellence and the Head of the Research Office Dr. Styliani Petroudi will present the goals and vision of the Center.
