ABOUT THE POSITION:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Centre is seeking one Innovation Officer to join its fast-growing team of passionate and enthusiastic professionals. The job holders will be a) supporting the activities of the CYENS Innovation Department and b) supporting the implementation of the Cyprus DIGital INNovation Hub (DiGiNN) project. DiGiNN is part of the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) in the Digital Europe program aiming to ensure that innovative digital solutions, based on new technologies, are integrated into the day-to-day business of companies and public administrations. Reporting line: Head of the Innovation Department. Support the implementation of the Cyprus DIGital INNovation Hub (DiGiNN) project and the EIT Community HUB Cyprus (primary responsibilities)
- Support the coordination and management of the DiGiNN Project and the EIT Community Hub for CYENS
- Contribute to the successful achievement of the corresponding KPIs and implementation – including all relevant deliverables and activities
- Organize and participate in networking events with the local industry and government sectors
- Support in the organization of project meetings and events
- Support the development of project deliverables
- Collect and analyze data and report on the project Key Performance Indicators
- Support in any other project related activity
- Actively engage with stakeholders, including startups, universities, public bodies, SMEs, corporates, and freelancers, fostering connections within the innovation ecosystem.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partner organisations, ensuring effective collaboration and knowledge exchange.
- Manage incoming requests, inquiries, and messages from stakeholders.
- Act as a liaison between startups, researchers, investors, venture capitalists, and innovation enablers to facilitate meaningful collaborations and the development of entrepreneurial ventures.
- Organise and coordinate meetings with stakeholders and partner organisations.
- Represent CYENS at national and international events, promoting visibility and fostering collaborations.
- Support the Head of Innovation Department in daily operations, departmental activities, and strategic initiatives.
- Contribute to the preparation of project deliverables and technical or administrative reports.
- Support the coordination and management of new and ongoing projects
- Support proposal development and grant writing for Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, and other relevant funding programmes.
- Assist in preparing presentations, innovation-related documentation, and promotional material for the department.
- Provide input to the Innovation Department’s strategy by identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities in the innovation ecosystem.
- Capacity Building: Support training sessions, workshops, or accelerators for startups and researchers to enhance innovation capacity in Cyprus.
- Monitor innovation-related opportunities, partnerships, and initiatives relevant to CYENS.
General Qualifications & Requirements:
- University Degree (Bachelor’s Degree or Degree of a level equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree) or Diploma or Certificate or other study title or qualifications in relevant field.
- Relevant experience in project management is an advantage but not required.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications and especially Microsoft Excel.
- Language requirements: Excellent written and oral English-language skills are essential.

- Have successfully completed a higher education program of at least three (3) years and hold at least a bachelor's degree/diploma of higher education.
