CYENS Centre of Excellence was represented at the ACM Designing Interactive Systems (DIS) Conference in Madeira, where our researcher had the honour of presenting three important contributions in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).

On Saturday, CYENS co-organised the workshop “Cite your Well-being and Designing for Community Care”, which explored how personal lives, mental health, and community care practices intersect with HCI research. Read more here.

🔹 Paper Presentation: Digital Ecosystem for Community-Based Rehabilitation
The paper “Building a Digital Ecosystem for Community-Based Rehabilitation: Insights from a Multi-Platform Social Media Strategy in Thailand”, led by Acarima Nanthanasit, presented findings from a large-scale digital intervention supporting community-based rehabilitation in rural Thailand. 🔹 Paper Presentation: Architectural Affordances in Social VR
Together with Jihae Han, CYENS also presented “To Cuddle, Mingle, Venture, or Guide: How Architectural Affordances Influence the Experience of Social VR Places”. The study introduces a typology of Social VR spaces based on interviews with intensive users, offering new insights into how architecture shapes digital social experiences.

Participation in conferences such as ACM DIS highlights CYENS’ commitment to advancing cutting-edge research and contributing to international dialogue on the future of interactive systems.
