CYENS Contributes to CySKILLS-AI National Initiative for Future Skills Intelligence

CYENS Centre of Excellence is proud to participate in CySKILLS-AI, a national research and innovation project developed in collaboration with Artemis Intelligence and the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth. The initiative aims to strengthen the alignment between education and the evolving needs of the labour market in Cyprus.

Funded under the “AI in Government” programme, the project addresses key national challenges, including fragmented data ecosystems, delayed policy responses, and limited forecasting capabilities. At its core, CySKILLS-AI will deliver a real-time, AI-powered skills intelligence system designed to support more informed and timely decision-making.

The CYENS team—Dr Vassilis Vassiliades, Marios Thoma, Chara Theocharous, and Niki Kyriakou—contributes to the development of advanced artificial intelligence solutions that transform complex, multi-source data into actionable insights for policymakers, educators, and industry stakeholders.

The system is structured around three main components:

Integration of data from job markets, higher education institutions, and national surveys
Use of specialised AI agents to analyse skills gaps, career pathways, and future workforce trends
Delivery of real-time insights through tailored dashboards for decision-makers

Running from March 2026 to March 2029, the project aims to enhance evidence-based policy development and strengthen the connection between education, innovation, and employment in Cyprus.

Through its contribution to CySKILLS-AI, CYENS continues to apply advanced research in artificial intelligence to real-world challenges, supporting the development of a more resilient and future-ready workforce.
