CYENS Centre of Excellence is a leading Research and Innovation hub specializing in Interactive Media, Smart Systems, and Emerging Technologies. As the only organization in Cyprus dedicated to immersive technologies, it plays a vital role in advancing knowledge and facilitating technology transfer across the region. IDRC – International Disaster and Risk Conference 2025

From 22 to 24 October 2025, Nicosia hosted the International Disaster and Risk Conference (IDRC 2025), welcoming international experts, policymakers, and researchers for three days of dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration on resilience and sustainable risk management.

IDRC 2025 was co-organised by CYENS Centre of Excellence, University of Cyprus, and GRF Davos, in partnership with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR). The conference was supported by Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (ΡΙΚ / CyBC) as Communication Sponsor.

The programme featured high-level keynotes, thematic panels, and networking sessions addressing disaster risk reduction, climate resilience, and evidence-based policy, reinforcing IDRC’s role as a global platform for advancing practical solutions and international cooperation.

The organisers extend their sincere thanks to all speakers, participants, and members of the Organising and Scientific Committees for their invaluable contributions. Special acknowledgement is given to Amir Azizi, Ali Najm, and Yiorgos Chrysanthou for their dedication and leadership in delivering IDRC 2025.
