Description

Are you a creative looking to protect and monetize your intellectual property? Then mark your calendars for April 1st.

Thinker Maker Space invites you to attend a free masterclass on Intellectual Property for Creatives.

Our guest speaker, Erica Wolfe-Murray, a UK-based specialist in intellectual property, will be sharing her expertise on managing and protecting your assets, as well as finding new ways to enjoy their financial benefits. With clients like National Geographic and Disney, Erica knows what it takes to protect your ideas, products, and services and come up with new revenue opportunities.

But that is not all! We have also invited Cyprus-based lawyer Nikoletta Epaminonda, who specializes in advising on a range of intellectual property matters, to give us an overview of the Cypriot Intellectual Property Landscape.

The event will be a blend of open-to-all and group sessions, giving you the chance to interact and learn from like-minded creatives.

Mark your calendars and join us for this exciting masterclass!

Session 1, “Intellectual Property: What all creatives should know,”

Most people don’t have a clue what intellectual property is. And if that’s you too – then attending this interactive talk is a must.

We will go for a fast spin around IP, to give you a clear understanding of what it is, how to protect it and how IP can help your business thrive. You will leave knowing about copyright, trademarks, design rights and patents as well as a host of other useful information.

After all the world’s IP laws were devised to ensure creative practitioners benefit from their output so come and find out what that could mean for your business.

Session 2: The Cypriot Intellectual Property Landscape

A brief overview of the legislation applicable to intellectual property rights in Cyprus, the procedure necessary to protect IP in Cyprus and some of the funding opportunities that are available for you to protect your work.

Session 3 “Mapping your assets & IP”

Every single company has different intellectual assets & IP. Without exception. So what do you already own, what potentially could you own and what can you do with all these riches?

This session will help you understand how to discover, map and assess how you could potentially exploit them.

Session 4: Harnessing your IP for growth

There are so many ways to harness, exploit, develop and pivot the IP and assets you own. To generate new IP, unexpected revenues, new audiences, unexpected products and services. But you also need to understand how to manage your IP and ensure you don’t infringe other people’s.

This session will give you some useful tools, show you some inspiring case studies and leave you on a high wanting to roll up your sleeves to see what potential you can unearth in your business.

Mentoring | Groups 30-minute sessions of 3-5 people

There will be four group sessions of between 3-5 creative practitioners per session. Each session will look at IP belonging to those around the table, to come up with fast paced ideas for how they could be harnessed, exploited, pivoted or form the basis of other revenues.
