CYENS Centre of Excellence is a leading Research and Innovation hub specializing in Interactive Media, Smart Systems, and Emerging Technologies. As the only organization in Cyprus dedicated to immersive technologies, it plays a vital role in advancing knowledge and facilitating technology transfer across the region. PREMIERE Live in Porto | Horizon Europe Final Event

The culmination of a 3-year Horizon Europe project, PREMIERE showcased how AI, XR, and artistic research transform performing arts — live from Porto and streamed in VR.

The PREMIERE project came to a spectacular conclusion on 18 September 2025 at the Coliseu Porto Ageas in Portugal. Over 250 guests in Porto and nearly 200 online participants via VR streaming experienced how artistic creation can be reshaped by the synergy of researchers, artists, and cutting-edge technologies.

🌐 Highlights from the final showcase included:

Re-embodied Machine by Instituto Stocos a transdisciplinary stage work translated into music and light, also streamed live in VR by CYENS Centre of Excellence
Intuition Machine by ICK Dans Amsterdam an interactive performance combining holography, dance, and AI
Roman & ELIZA by Amsterdam University of the Arts with Ulrike Quade Company a VR theatre exploration of technology, memory, and grief
Premiere Documentary by Argo Theater and the Archive Desk by Athena Research Center innovative tools for preserving and expanding performing arts heritage

Over the course of three years, PREMIERE united 12 partners across Europe to explore how AI and XR can support the entire performing-arts lifecycle: from creation and streaming to archiving and analysis.
