Eleni Pashia

She is particularly interested in interdisciplinarity, participatory design and co-creation, inclusive and intersectional design, critical pedagogy, feminist spatial theory and practice, and qualitative research, with a focus on community engagement and social impact.

Dr Eleni Pashia (she/her) is a Research Associate at the Interactive Media and Edutainment MRG (EdMedia) Research Group. With a background in Architectural Engineering, she transitioned into the Social Sciences Faculty to pursue an interdisciplinary fully-funded Ph.D  in Architecture from the University of Sheffield, UK. Her doctoral research developed a unique approach to peacebuilding and to transforming relational borders between communities, integrating critical pedagogy with feminist, performative, and critical lenses in the theory and practice of space.

Eleni seamlessly blends her artistic interests with her professional practice, drawing from architecture and design, education and culture, while extending into environmental and technological contexts. Her innovative approach, which spans formal and non-formal learning modalities using design-based and experiential methods across fields, earned her recognition as a finalist in the “Creativity and Culture” category of the Cyprus UK Alumni Awards 2024 by the British Council.
