Dr Evropi Toulkeridou (she/her) graduated the Mathematics Department of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, where she also obtained a MSc degree in Theoretical Informatics and Systems Control. After working in the private sector as a mathematics teacher for a number of years, she did a multidisciplinary PhD at Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST), Japan. Her research focused on Computer Vision, Deep Learning, and Statistical Analysis of biological and evolutionary data of ants, whereas her recent research extends from theoretical aspects of nanoparticle synthesis to robotic vision and biomedical imaging. Over the past four years, she has held positions as Visiting Researcher at the University of Osaka, Japan, Visiting Postdoctoral Scholar at the Computer Science Department of the University of Cyprus and as Lecturer at the Mathematics and Computer Science Department of the Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT), China/Israel.
