Unleashing XR Education for Future Impact
Revolutionizing Civic Education through Metaverse Technologies
Metacivicedu is an innovative project designed to address the critical gaps in civic education within primary schools by integrating metaverse technologies. This European Commission-supported initiative aims to enhance the capabilities of educators using extended reality (XR) tools, facilitating more effective and engaging learning environments for young students.
Our primary objective is to improve the effectiveness of civic education. By empowering teachers with XR technologies, we equip them to foster young students’ knowledge, beliefs, and behaviors necessary for active civic participation and community impact.
The project encompasses several key activities:
- Developing new methodological and pedagogical models for civic education within the metaverse.
- Training teachers to implement cutting-edge, metaverse-enabled civic learning scenarios.
- Conducting pilot studies to validate these innovative educational practices.
- Promoting lifelong learning among educators through the development and exchange of learning scenarios.
- Disseminating best practices and successful outcomes at national and European levels through conferences and events.
