ABOUT THE POSITION:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Centre is seeking for 1 or 2 AI Engineer(s) to join the 3D / Software Development team (SwD) of CYENS CoE. The successful candidate(s) will focus on developing, deploying, and maintaining AI solutions tailored for Cyprus government digital transformation and for industrial applications, working at the intersection of research and real-world business needs. Reporting line 3D / SwD Team Manager. Responsibilities of AI Engineer(s):

Design, implement, and optimize AI models for government and industrial use cases
Deploy AI solutions as scalable services for SMEs and industry partners.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI into end-to-end digital services.
Contribute to the testing, validation, and continuous improvement of deployed systems.
Support the development of secure, ethical, and industry-compliant AI applications.

General Qualifications & Requirements:

University Degree, Bachelor's degree and/or postgraduate degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.).
2+ years of experience in AI/ML development and deployment
Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
Experience in applied AI/ML for real-world problems (e.g., NLP, computer vision, predictive analytics).
Experience with MLOps practices, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerized deployment (Docker, Kubernetes)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
Language requirements: Excellent written and oral English-language skills are essential.
Work Permit: Non-EU applicants must already possess a valid work permit.

Profile of the ideal candidate:

Experience with conversational AI, chatbot frameworks, or dialogue systems.
Experience with API development, system integration, and document digitization workflows
Previous experience working with industry clients.
Familiarity with EU AI regulatory frameworks
