Thinker Maker Space Internship
TMS is a small interdisciplinary team of multi-talented people focusing our efforts on the design and development of all kinds of (rapid) prototypes, using, – but not limited to – digital fabrication methods. Through our extensive services and actions we strive to support local creatives of all flavors.

General qualifications
- Currently enrolled student or recent graduate (undergraduate or postgraduate level)
- Strong interest in making, fabrication, and creative technologies
- Motivation to engage in hands-on, project-based learning environments
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team setting
- Positive attitude and ability to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage tasks effectively, including under time constraints
Required Skills
- Basic familiarity or willingness to learn tools and technologies such as:
- Design software (e.g. CAD tools)
- Digital fabrication tools (e.g. laser cutter/engraver, 3D printing)
- Traditional fabrication tools and workshop equipment
- Interest in rapid prototyping and iterative design processes
- Ability to support technical and creative tasks across different projects
- Teamwork, adaptability, and problem-solving mindset Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Design/Manufacturing) experience will be considered an advantage
Internship Objectives
- Contribute to the design, fabrication, and prototyping of interactive systems and physical artefacts Support ongoing TMS projects, which may include:
- Development of interactive exhibits
- Product design and prototyping
- Participation in various fabrication and innovation activities depending on active projects
- Gain hands-on experience with digital fabrication workflows and tools within a research and innovation environment
- Support the planning and delivery of events, including the WIP – Work In Progress Festival (October 2026)
- Develop practical skills in creative technology, design thinking, and collaborative production
- Engage with the broader CYENS ecosystem, contributing to projects at the intersection of art, technology, and research
