Dr. Maria Matsangidou is a Senior Researcher in Digital Health and Emerging Healthcare Technology at CYENS Centre of Excellence. Her expertise lies in personalized digital interventions that enhance patient care through Virtual Reality and health informatics, targeting dementia, cancer, chronic pain, motor impairments, and mental health disorders. She has led or coordinated over 10 EU and nationally funded projects, managing over €3 million in research funding. Dr. Matsangidou has published over 50 high-impact papers in venues such as ACM CHI, IEEE Access, Virtual Reality Journal, and the Journal of Medical Internet Research. She is an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Human-Computer Studies (IJHCS) and JMIR, and serves on program committees for ACM CHI and other leading conferences.
