Yiorgos L. Chrysanthou is the Research Director of the Centre on Interactive Media, Smart Systems and emerging Technologies – CYENS Centre of Excellence. He is also a Professor at the Computer Science Department of the University of Cyprus. Yiorgos was educated in the UK (BSc and PhD from Queen Mary College, University of London) and worked for several years as a research fellow and a lecturer at University College London. He has published over 80 papers in journals and international conferences on computer graphics and virtual reality and is a co-author of the book “Computer Graphics and Virtual Environments: From Realism to Real-Time”, (Addison-Wesley 2001+ China Machine Press 2004). Yiorgos serves as an associate editor for the Journals Computer Graphics Forum and Computers and Graphics, and review editor for Frontiers in Robotics and AI (Specialty Section Virtual Environments). He served as the local or overall coordinator of over 25 research projects, related his research interests, that lie in the general area of 3D Computer Graphics, recently focusing more on the development of algorithms for real-time AR and VR rendering, reconstruction of urban environments and computer animation.

In 2021 Dr. Ioannou received a “2nd Opportunity” grant from the Cyprus Research and Innovation Foundation and a year later has been awarded a Marie S. Curie funding (Individual Fellowship) by the European Executive Agency. Since May 2022 Dr. Ioannou continues at CYENS as a group leader of the “Neurocognitive Management of Occupational Movement Disorders” (Neo-Move) research group. His research areas focus on cognitive neuroscience, neurophysiology, motor control, chronic pain, work-related musculoskeletal disorders/diseases, motor rehabilitation, biofeedback systems and interactive technologies. Findings of his research have been published in several international scientific journals and presented at various universities and international conferences in the USA, Germany, Japan, Israel, Slovenia, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Canada, Greece, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, and Azerbaijan.

Dr. Fotis Liarokapis has received the D.Phil. degree from the University of Sussex, U.K., and has worked as a Research Fellow with City University, London, U.K., Coventry University, U.K., and most recently at Masaryk University, Czech Republic, where he was an Associate Professor and Director of the HCI Lab. His research interests include virtual reality, augmented reality, brain computer interfaces and serious games. He has organised multiple conferences and workshops and he is the co-founder of the International Conference on Virtual Worlds and Games for Serious Applications (VS-Games). Currently, he is the co-chair of IEEE CoG 2020 and he is a member of IEEE.
