Chirag Padubidri, received the BE degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), India, and the MSc in Embedded Systems from the University of Twente, Netherlands. He began his career at the CYENS Centre of Excellence as a Research Associate and later joined the CYENS Doctoral Training Program, completing his PhD at the Cyprus University of Technology with a focus on AI-driven biodiversity monitoring, remote sensing, and geospatial analytics.

At CYENS, he is a member of the SuPerWorld Multidisciplinary Research Group, conducting applied research in deep learning, computer vision, and pervasive computing. His research interests include biodiversity monitoring, satellite image analysis, geographic information systems, multi- and hyperspectral imagery, aerial and drone-based imaging, and camera trap technologies. He also explores the integration of IoT and geospatial analytics to develop scalable tools for environmental modeling, data-driven services, and decision support.

Beyond CYENS, he is the co-founder and Operations Manager of PERIOPSIS Ltd., working on the design and deployment of AI-based solutions for satellite imagery, point-of-interest detection, and large-scale environmental observation.
