Neo Move Research Team, Receives Erasmus+ Grant for Innovative Dementia Care Project

We are excited to announce that Tania Garcia, a researcher at Neo Move Research Team of CYENS c.o.e., has successfully secured an Erasmus+ grant of €250,000 for the project “Enhancing Dementia Care: Integrating XR Technology for Gait Training and Mobility Improvement in Elderly Populations (GaitXR).” This international project, set to begin in January 2025, brings together partners from Cyprus, Spain, Denmark, and Italy and focuses on addressing critical needs in elderly dementia care through cutting-edge technology.

The GaitXR project aims to revolutionize dementia care by developing and implementing an XR tool for healthcare graduates and professionals. This tool will integrate gait training into the care of elderly populations with mild dementia, enhancing their mobility and quality of life. Furthermore, the project will create an educational program manual and pilot the tool to ensure its suitability for healthcare training programs.

By combining digital transformation with healthcare training, the GaitXR project strives to improve the digital readiness of healthcare workers and equip them with innovative skills, fostering both patient care and professional growth.

Stay tuned for more updates as we embark on this journey to enhance dementia care through technology and collaboration!
